What You Can Learn from the Bloody Mary

As the story goes... in 1939, a Russian immigrant owned the rights to distribute vodka in the U.S. His efforts bombed. Americans weren't interested in a colorless, odorless alcohol.
Depressed, he sold the rights to Heublein, an alcohol distribution company, who asked themselves: "What can we combine with Vodka to give it a distinctive taste and color?"
The answer? Tomato juice. Voila, the Bloody Mary was born -- and sales went through the roof.
What most of us think of as "an innovation" is really just the elegant combination of two (or more) pre-existing elements resulting in the creation of a new, value-added product or service.
OK. Enough talk. It's time to try it for yourself.
