The New One Voice for Laos Documentary!
Here is the new One Voice for Laos documentary, created by 16-year old, local film maker, Garland Berenzy. It's a great overview of everyone's efforts during the past 18 months, including new footage of the journey to the orphanage. Please share it with your friends and anyone else you think might be interested in the project.
And remember, the Loop for Laos run is coming up on September 30th. Read more about it here.

September 04, 2012Loop for Laos 5K Run: September 30th
by Emily Waligurski
Last October, One Voice for Laos successfully held their first Loop For Laos in the town of Woodstock -- the very first teen-organized fundraising event of the project.
Rachel Castellano and Caleb Rudge took hold of organizing, advertising, and putting on the run.
Throughout the 2011-12 school year, local Hudson Valley teens planned a number of other fun events that raised money for the Deak Kum Pa orphanage in Laos. Last year, altogether, they raised over $15,000 -- and four of the teens actually made the trip to Laos, in July, to work with the orphans there.
This year, a whole new group of students are taking on the Laos project.
We had our first meeting two weeks ago and brainstormed a bunch of new ideas to help raise money for the orphanage.
Caleb and Rachel, upon graduating from high school and entering college, passed down the responsibility of Loop for Laos to my friend, Kelly Ambrosch, and I, Emily Waligurski.
All summer we have been preparing for the run.
This year, the 3.5 mile run will be held on Sunday, September 30th at 9:00 am, starting and ending at Andy Lee field.
Pre-registrants pay a lower admission fee and, if they are one of the first 50, will receive a Loop for Laos T-shirt. Otherwise, runners/walkers can sign up from 8:15 - 9:00 am on the day of the race.
The goal of Loop for Laos is not only to raise money to help over 600 orphans, but to bring the community together in the process. We hope Loop for Laos can inspire awareness, health, wellness, and community unity!
Anyone can help us accomplish our goals by signing up for the run and encouraging others in the community to do the same!
Local businesses can also play a part by sponsoring the event -- donating food, money, or supplies. Not only will they be helping the cause, but they will get their names on the back of the Loop for Laos t-shirts!
Volunteers on race day are always welcome!
People of all ages and speeds are encouraged to join us on September 30th at Andy Lee Field in Woodstock, NY! Hope to see you there!
